This Privacy/Data Protection Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is designed to help you understand how Docsify OÜ (“Docsify”, “we”, “our” or “us”) collects and uses the information, including personal data, that you share when you use www.docsify.net and its associated domains (together, the “Site”), as well as the information, software or services available through the Site (collectively, “Services”). Except where otherwise expressly indicated in this Privacy Policy or on the Site, this Privacy Policy applies only to information collected on the Site and through the Services and does not apply to information that we receive off-line. It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your Personal Information and how you can access and update this information.

We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy carefully before using our Site or Services or transacting business with us. By using our Site, you accept and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We collect the information that you share with us, including:

2.1. Account Information. This may include your name, address, email address and phone number. We use this information in the ways you would expect, such as to set up your Account or contact you.

2.2. Third Party Account Information. If you use Third Party Services, such as social media or photo-sharing services, you may provide us with your Third Party Services account information, such as your username (note that we don’t store any passwords you use to access Third Party Services). We transmit, and may store, such account information, only as needed to provide the Services, and only in accordance with the terms and policies of the Third Party Services.

2.3. Payment Information. When you initially provide or update your payment information, we transmit it via an encrypted connection to our Payment Processor, Wirecard. Wirecard uses and processes your payment information in accordance with Wirecard’s Privacy Policy. We don’t store your payment information, other than your zip code and country, which we require for billing and to comply with tax and other government regulations.

2.4. Communications With Us. When you send us emails or other communications, such as customer support inquiries, we maintain those communications and their contents so that we can resolve your inquiries or otherwise assist you.

2.5. Public Comments On The Services. We maintain any comments, contributions to discussions or messages submitted to users of the Services, in order to provide the Services.

2.6. Files You Provide Us. When you use the Services, we store, process and transmit your User Content (such as your photos) and information related to your User Content (such as location tags in photos). We process and store such files and information in order to provide the Services, as described in our Terms of Service.

2.7. Usage Information. This includes information about your activity on and interaction with the Services, such as your IP address, your device or browser type, the webpage you visited before coming to our sites and identifiers associated with your devices. This information enables us to analyze how the Services are being accessed and used, and to track performance of the Services.

2.8. Location Information. Your devices (depending on your settings) may transmit location information to the Services. We use this information to customize, improve and protect the Services. For example, we may use your location information to determine local language preferences, or to geotag a post.

2.9. Cookies And Other Technologies. We use these technologies to do things such as remember your preferences, keep you safe and improve and promote the Services. We also may collect information from the people with whom you interact by email when you use the Site and Services. This information may include the number of times that the recipient opens your email, the recipient’s IP address and the computer platform that the recipient is using.

You may also provide personal information about other people, such as their email address. This information is only used for the sole purpose of completing your request or for whatever reason it may have been provided.

Docsify does not store your credit card information. If you purchase Services, your credit card information is processed and stored by Wirecard.com.

How We Use Personal Information

Except as specified in this Privacy Policy, Docsify does not rent, sell, trade or disclose your Personal Information to third parties without your informed consent.

In general, we use all of the information we collect in order to:

  • provide you with products and services;
  • respond to your requests for information;
  • determine if you are eligible to receive certain products or services;
  • provide customer service;
  • enforce Docsify’s agreements with you;
  • provide you with additional information that may be of interest, including marketing and educational materials from us and our partners;
  • customize, analyze, adjust and improve the Site and Services to better meet your needs;
  • facilitate communication between Docsify and you;
  • provide you with information that may interest you or marketing and promotional information about products and services we believe may interest you (this information contains a subscriber link allowing you to opt out);
  • provide you with important administrative information, such as changes to this Privacy Policy, our Terms of Service and our other policies;
  • prevent fraud and other prohibited or illegal activities.

Do we disclose any information to third parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personal information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, as long as those parties are obliged to keep this information confidential (such as payment processing or accounting services).

We may also release your information when we believe the release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect our or others rights, property, or safety, as well as in the event of breaking the Terms of Service (such as sending spam and prohibited content).

However, non-personal visitor information (such as: the Device’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, the web page visited before or after you came to our website, information you search for on our website, and interactions with the Service) may be used by us for marketing, advertising, statistic purposes and to track the general progress of efficiency of our Service.

Controlling Your Personal Information

If you would like to modify or delete your Personal Information, please submit a request at support@docsify.net with clear instructions about what you would like modified or deleted. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Customer Testimonials

We post customer testimonials on our website, which may contain personal information. We do obtain our Clients’ consent to post their name along with their testimonial via email prior to posting the testimonial on our website. However, if you wish to request the removal of your testimonial, please contact us by submitting a request at support@docsify.net

Single Sign-On

You can log in to our site using sign-in services such as Google’s OAuth. These services will authenticate your identity and provide you the option to share certain personal information with us such as your name and email address to pre-populate our sign up form or create your account.

Security

This site has security measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. However, no such measures are 100% secure. If you have any questions about security on our Site, you can contact us by submitting a request at support@docsify.net.

A Special Note About Minors

We do not knowingly collect any personal information about minors. To use the Site and Services, you must be the age of legal majority in your place of residence. By using the Site and Services, you hereby represent that you are at least the age of legal majority in your place of residence. We do not use an application or other mechanism to determine the age of users of the Site and Services. All information provided to Docsify will be treated as if it was provided by an adult. If, however, we learn that a minor has submitted information about himself/herself to us, we delete the information as soon as possible.

Third Party Links

Our Site may contain links to other websites which are outside our control and are not covered by this Privacy Policy. If you access Third-Party websites using the links provided, the operators of such sites may collect information from you which will be used by them in accordance with their own privacy policies, which may differ from ours. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those Third-Party Websites so that you understand if/how they collect and/or use information from you or your computer.

Modifications

We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time, and will post the most current version on our site. If a modification meaningfully reduces your rights, we’ll notify you in accordance with the procedures set forth in our Terms of Service.

Severability

The invalidity or unenforceability of any provisions of this Privacy Policy in any country shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision of this Privacy Policy, which shall remain in full force and effect.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Privacy Policy is governed by Estonian law, without regard to its conflicts of laws principles.
